Tom Aspinall holds the record for the fastest win in UFC heavyweight title fight history, having stopped Sergei Pavlovich in just 69 seconds. A lifelong Manchester United supporter, he previously worked as a bouncer in Manchester nightclubs before pursuing martial arts professionally. His father Andy was a British jiu-jitsu champion who instructed Tom in his first submissions, laying the foundation for his black belt achievement. Aspinall favors the rear-naked choke, utilizing it in three of his four submission victories in the UFC. He attributes his exceptional footwork to years of dedicated sprint training and plyometrics. A significant chapter in his modern legend involves a severe eye injury sustained at a UFC event in July 2026. The incident required surgery that Aspinall described as horrendous, noting it was worse than a vasectomy. This event sparked widespread discussion regarding the dangers of eye pokes and highlighted his resilience during recovery. Despite the graphic nature of the trauma, he returned to defend his title against Ciryl Gane, cementing his status as a dominant force. Some commentators suggest he may be the most dominant heavyweight the UFC has ever produced, though questions remain about how fully the organization has utilized his potential. His victory over Gane and current record of 15-3-0 stand as verified milestones in a career defined by speed and power.[편집]
