Wayne Rooney's connection to the football world is defined by a rare blend of working-class grit and global superstardom, yet his fanbase has no formal name. Instead, supporters identify primarily through their club allegiance, particularly within the Manchester United community where he remains the all-time leading goalscorer. Fans often refer to him simply as 'Wayne' or 'Rooneys,' celebrating his longevity and loyalty rather than specific rituals or organized campaigns unique solely to him. His relationship with the public has evolved from the fiery prodigy of Croxteth to a respected voice in media, most notably through his partnership on the weekly show *Stick to United* alongside Mark Goldbridge. Rooney's first professional goal was a dramatic last-minute winner against Arsenal that ended their 30-match unbeaten run. Despite this brilliance, he was booked for diving in his debut match, a moment that highlighted his early temper. A lifelong Everton supporter, he famously wore a shirt reading 'Once a Blue, Always a Blue' after leaving the club, cementing his complex relationship with his boyhood team. At Manchester United, his jersey number 10 served as a direct homage to his idol Zinedine Zidane. He holds the record for the most Premier League goals scored away from home, totaling 94 strikes. On his arm, a lion tattoo symbolizes his deep pride in representing England. Beyond the statistics, fans still retell the story of his bicycle-kick winner against Manchester City in February 2011, a moment so iconic it won the Premier League Goal of the 20-Year Era award. Another legendary anecdote involves his emotional return to Goodison Park, where the crowd chanted his name despite his history of being booed there years prior, marking a full-circle moment of redemption that many consider the defining chapter of his career.[편집]
