Nate Diaz commands a devoted following known as the Diaz Army, a moniker reflecting the militaristic loyalty and aggressive defense of his legacy within combat sports. This group is characterized by its intense devotion to the brothers' 'California Wits' persona, blending laid-back anti-establishment values with fierce allegiance. Fans distinguish themselves through specific rituals, including wearing red bandanas and chanting 'Be Real,' while driving ticket sales and pay-per-view buys regardless of the opponent. Their influence extends to charity drives for veterans and local Stockton communities rather than traditional celebrity stunts. The cultural mythology surrounding Diaz is anchored in verified triumphs like his 2016 victory over Conor McGregor at UFC 196, an event that remains the gold standard for underdog narratives, alongside folklore regarding his unbreakable spirit during the 2017 bout against Georges St-Pierre. Recent accounts from May 2026 describe a severe corner stoppage loss to Mike Perry, reigniting debates about his longevity, yet the core mythos of the 'Stockton Strangler' persists. Amidst this enduring presence, Nate Diaz holds a significant standing in global fame metrics. He is currently the 33rd most famous person in MMA & Boxing, a position holding steady from the previous cycle according to the iFANN Global Fame Rankings. This placement reflects his sustained relevance across media coverage and consumption signals worldwide. While the fanbase has no single formal name beyond the Diaz Army, their organized nature ensures Diaz remains a central figure in the industry, responding to callouts with viral statements that cement his status as the anti-hero of the sport.[편집]

Diaz began training in martial arts at age 11 alongside his older brother Nick and competed in a bare-knuckle MMA fight at age 17 before his official career commenced. He worked as a cook before joining his brother at Animal House Gym and holds a third-degree black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu under Cesar Gracie. His signature strike, the Stockton Slap, is an open-handed blow intended to disrespect opponents. Diaz has won 16 UFC bonuses, ranking third in promotion history, and stands as the only fighter to submit Conor McGregor in MMA competition. He is a vocal advocate for marijuana legalization and fighter rights. The narrative of his resilience is often illustrated by the 2016 fight against McGregor, where he survived a brutal first round to force a submission attempt in the second, sparking a global reaction where crowds chanted 'We want Diaz!' A story fans still retell involves his 2017 split decision win over Georges St-Pierre, where he out-wrestled the legendary champion despite absorbing immense damage. Another chapter of his lore includes the 2024 exhibition match against Mike Perry, where a severe corner stoppage loss reignited discussions on his physical condition, though the tale of his 'unbreakable spirit' endures as a defining element of his public image.[편집]
