Im Si-wan commands a significant global footprint, transitioning from a beloved K-pop idol to an internationally recognized actor through high-profile roles in cinema and streaming. Despite this widespread recognition, the iFANN Global Fame Engine has evaluated his current standing and determined that he does not hold a placement in the published rankings for the Global Top 1,000 or any Top-100 scope list as of August 2026. This status reflects a highly specialized fame where his name resonates deeply within specific cultural spheres rather than generating the broad, mass-market search volume required for a ranked position. His audience remains anchored by the collective identity of Zebra, the official fandom for his former group ZE:A, which serves as the primary organizational force behind his support. While no distinct standalone fandom name exists exclusively for Im Si-wan separate from the group, the Zebra community demonstrates remarkable loyalty, particularly during major career milestones like his military discharge celebrations and recent announcements regarding solo activities. The fanbase is known for its organized efforts to boost visibility in variety shows and music programs, though specific campaigns funded solely for his individual projects remain less documented compared to broader group initiatives. His influence is defined by a narrative of resilience and reinvention, moving from a rookie idol to a leading man in Korea's biggest films and global hits without relying on viral incidents or mass fainting crowds.[편집]

Im Si-wan is an avid reader with a keen interest in philosophy and literature, often discussing these topics in interviews. He shares a notable resemblance to actor Lee Dong-wook, a fact frequently pointed out by fans and media. Despite an early career image as a 'pretty boy,' he deliberately sought out darker and more complex roles to challenge himself as an actor. His preparation for roles is intense; for The Attorney, he significantly lost weight and studied historical footage of the Gwangju Uprising. He is also a fan of the video game League of Legends and has participated in celebrity gaming tournaments. Im Si-wan completed his mandatory military service in 2018. He stands at approximately 173 cm (5'8'). His notable magazine covers include High Cut, Cine21, W Korea, GQ Korea, and Esquire Korea. A defining moment in his career lore occurred with his role as Lee Joon-ho in the blockbuster film The Attorney, which marked his successful transition from a K-pop idol to a serious actor and became one of the highest-grossing films in South Korean history at the time. Fans also frequently retell the story of his 2013 confession that he had never had a girlfriend, a comment that later led to regret and became a piece of insider lore about his early struggles with public scrutiny. More recently, his casting as Player 333 in Squid Game Season 2 generated renewed global attention, cementing his status as a modern icon in the series' expanding universe.[편집]
