Hulk Hogan

2005년 WWE 명예의 전당(WWE Hall of Fame)에 헌액되었다. Hulk Hogan commanded a global attention that transcended the boundaries of professional wrestling to become a defining element of late 20th-century popular culture. His presence was felt in stadiums, on television screens, and within political discourse long after his active retirement. Despite this enduring historical weight, iFANN's Global Fame Engine has evaluated Terry Bollea but determined he does not currently hold a placement in the published rankings, including the Global Top 1,000 or any Top-100 scope list. This absence from current numerical standings reflects a shift in contemporary media consumption patterns rather than a diminution of his historical stature. The collective following associated with his career remains distinct and widely recognized by the moniker Hulkamaniacs. Individual supporters are identified as Hulkamaniacs, a term that persists in cultural memory despite the lack of a single formal organization governing the group today. These fans have historically engaged in specific rituals, such as the collective chanting of catchphrases and the mimicry of his signature shirt-tearing gesture. Following his passing in July 2025, the community entered a period of mourning and critical re-evaluation, often engaging with retrospective documentaries to process his complex legacy. The sheer scale of his past influence is evidenced by verified attendance records at major events, yet his current standing in real-time fame metrics places him outside the active ranking tiers monitored by the system.[편집]

Born weighing 10 pounds and 7 ounces, Terry Bollea played bass guitar in rock bands before entering professional wrestling. He holds the distinction of being the second-longest combined reigning WWF Champion of all time, while his signature finisher, the leg drop, remained a simple yet devastating maneuver. One of the most documented moments in sports history occurred when he wrestled Andre the Giant at WrestleMania III before an indoor crowd of over 93,000 fans. His autobiography, Hollywood Hulk Hogan, achieved New York Times bestseller status. Beyond these established facts, his legend includes a pivotal heel turn where he turned against his own fans, a moment widely analyzed as changing the landscape of wrestling kayfabe. Another verified event involves his lawsuit against Gawker Media, which resulted in a massive settlement and effectively destroyed the publication. A persistent piece of folklore surrounding his life involved a viral death hoax circulated prior to his actual passing, which was later debunked by police reports confirming natural causes.[편집]

The announcement of Terry Gene Bollea's passing in 2025 prompted an immediate surge of tributes from major media institutions and a measurable spike in fan engagement with his legacy. ABC News and NBC News both issued retrospectives, while the market for memorabilia reacted swiftly; a WWF World Heavyweight Championship belt given away by Hogan decades ago sold for $414,800 in August 2026, reflecting the intense interest in his remaining artifacts. The wrestling community mourned the loss of a two-time Hall of Famer who had recently starred in the Netflix series Real American, marking one of his final public appearances before his death. Bollea passed away in 2025 at the age of 71, though the specific date of July 24 remains unverified by available records beyond the year itself.

The lack of official medical documentation meant that speculation remained unaddressed by authoritative sources. Funeral arrangements and the method of disposition were kept private. Posthumous efforts focused on the management of his brand and legacy through his son, Nick Hogan, who announced plans to open the Hulkamania SLAM Sports Bar outside Madison Square Garden in August 2026. A new book titled Why Hulk Hogan Matters by David Shoemaker was also discussed during this period, analyzing his impact on pop culture. The estate continues to be administered by his family, ensuring the preservation of the Hulkamania name alongside ongoing business ventures.[편집]

As things stand in 2026, Hulk Hogan's estate is valued at approximately $25 million per iFANN's editorial analysis. During his career, he earned tens of millions from wrestling contracts, pay-per-view bonuses, merchandise sales, and endorsements. He earned a reported $1.5 million per year from a WWE legends contract. Hogan also made money from acting roles, reality TV shows like Hogan Knows Best, and his own beer brand, Hogan's Beach . His divorce from Linda Hogan in 2009 reportedly cost him a significant portion of his wealth. A 2016 lawsuit against Gawker Media, which published a sex tape, resulted in a $140 million verdict for Hogan, though the settlement was later reduced. After his death in 2025, his estate continues to earn from merchandise royalties, licensing deals, and appearances by his family.[편집]
