Hugo Souza stands as a towering figure for the Corinthians faithful, yet his identity remains inextricably bound to the massive *Timão* collective rather than a singular cult following. While his Instagram handle @hugosouza commands nearly four million followers under the moniker 'Sonhador,' these numbers reflect standard elite athlete engagement rather than a distinct movement with its own rituals or fan-funded campaigns. There is no official fandom name documented for the goalkeeper; instead, support flows through the club's institutional structures and social media channels where match attendance and digital interaction define the relationship. In August 2026, his visibility spiked dramatically when he became the target of racist abuse from Rosario Central supporters during a Copa Libertadores clash, an incident that drew global condemnation but remained a moment of victimization rather than a fan-driven legend. Hugo Souza is currently evaluated by iFANN but does not hold a placement in the published rankings. The iFANN Global Fame Engine has assessed his profile without assigning him a specific numeric rank or scope list position. This absence of a ranking reflects a career trajectory defined by team achievements and national duty rather than individual celebrity metrics. His fame rests on the solidity of his performances and the sheer scale of his physical presence on the pitch, resonating deeply within Brazilian football culture without generating the viral folklore or street-level hysteria seen among pop icons.[편집]

Hugo de Souza Nogueira carries the nickname Neneca, a tribute to Hélio Miguel, the legendary Guarani goalkeeper from the 1970s. Standing at 1.99 meters and weighing roughly 90 kg, he possesses one of the most imposing frames in Brazilian goalkeeping history. Born on January 31, he shares this date with several other athletes, though notably not the Brazilian icon Ronaldo. His professional journey took him outside Brazil for the first time during a stint at Chaves before he returned to claim starting duties at Corinthians. He earned his senior cap for Brazil in a World Cup qualifier against Peru in October 2024, securing a clean sheet in a decisive victory. His trophy cabinet is filled with team honors, including two Campeonato Carioca titles in 2020 and 2021, the 2020 Campeonato Brasileiro Série A crown, and the 2022 Copa do Brasil, all secured while playing for Flamengo. In August 2026, a serious incident occurred during a Copa Libertadores match against Rosario Central where Souza was subjected to racist chants, leading to official condemnations from his club and sparking a broader debate about racism in South American football.[편집]

iFANN currently estimates Hugo Souza's net worth at $1 Million as of 2026. This valuation primarily stems from his salary as the starting goalkeeper for Corinthians, which aligns with typical earnings for a Serie A starter ranging between $200,000 and $400,000 annually.
