Geoff Hurst

웨스트햄 팬들은 경기에서 'Geoff Hurst, he's one of our own'를 부릅니다.

Sir Geoff Hurst stands as a singular monument in global sports history, anchored by the only hat-trick ever scored in a men's World Cup final. While his legacy is universally revered across England and beyond, iFANN's Global Fame Engine has evaluated this person but they do not currently hold a placement in the published rankings. The absence of a numeric rank reflects a unique position where historical immortality coexists with a lack of current viral momentum; he is not competing for today's headlines but rather inhabiting a permanent stratum of cultural memory. Unlike modern athletes who mobilize dedicated fanbases for chart pushes or charity drives, Hurst's supporters operate through a diffuse national reverence rather than a structured organization. There is no documented fandom name to attach to his following, nor are there records of grassroots campaigns or ritualistic gatherings specific to him. His relationship with the public remains one of dignified observation, where fans sing his name at West Ham matches without needing an official club to organize the tribute. This passive yet profound adoration ensures his status as a national treasure persists regardless of ranking fluctuations. He engages with his audience through commemorative projects and social media updates that celebrate the 1966 triumph, maintaining a connection that feels more like a shared family memory than a celebrity-fan dynamic. The scale of his influence is measured not in daily search spikes but in the enduring presence of his story in museums, films, and the collective consciousness of football. Even as new generations discover the sport, Hurst remains the definitive answer to questions about English football's greatest moments.[편집]

Sir Geoff Hurst holds the distinction of being the first footballer to be knighted while still alive, a title previously reserved for Sir Stanley Matthews after retirement. A qualified cricket umpire, he once officiated a charity match featuring Ian Botham, bridging two sporting legends. His passion for golf saw him compete in professional-amateur tournaments throughout his life. The iconic commentary line 'They think it's all over… it is now!' was spoken by Kenneth Wolstenholme immediately after Hurst scored his third goal in the 1966 final. That ball from the historic match is now displayed at the National Football Museum. Hurst served as a pallbearer at Bobby Moore's funeral in 1993, honoring his close friend and captain. He also made a cameo appearance in the 1996 film 'The Great Game'. In recent years, he has collaborated on special projects like the 'Geoff Hurst Cuvée' sparkling wine with Sir Ian Botham and Balfour Winery to mark the 60th anniversary of the World Cup victory. These collaborations highlight how his legendary status continues to generate cultural products that blend sport, commerce, and nostalgia.[편집]

As of 2026, iFANN's editorial analysis estimates Sir Geoff Hurst's net worth at $12 Million. His wealth stems from a diverse portfolio built long after his playing days ended. During his career at West Ham and Stoke, his earnings were modest by modern standards, ranging from £200-£300 per week in the 1960s and rising to £500-£1,000 per week in the 1970s. His tenure managing Chelsea between 1979 and 1981 brought an annual salary of approximately £30,000. Post-retirement, he established a successful business empire including Hurst's Betting, a sports marketing agency, and a pub in Essex. Book royalties from his autobiography '1966 and All That' and subsequent editions provided steady income alongside speaking engagements that typically command fees between £5,000 and £15,000. Endorsements tied to the 1966 team and merchandising deals further bolstered his finances. Real estate played a significant role, highlighted by the sale of his large Upminster home in 2023 for roughly £2.5 million. His financial standing has remained stable with no major controversies.[편집]
