B.G.

그의 첫 녹음 출연은 1994년 캐시 머니 컴필레이션 《The Realest Niggaz》의 트랙 "All Over a Ho"였습니다. 첫 솔로 앨범 《True Story》는 1995년 그가 겨우 14세였을 때 발매되었고, 1997년에는 《It's All on U, Vol. 1》이 이어졌습니다. 그들의 데뷔 앨범 《Get It How U Live!》(1997)는 지역적 팬층을 형성하며 전국적인 성공의 발판을 마련했습니다.[편집]

그는 2000년대 중반까지 《The Heart of tha Streetz, Vol. 1》(2003)과 《Vol. 2》(2005)를 포함한 앨범을 계속 발매했습니다. 2024년, 주버나일 및 터크와 함께 합동 앨범 《Choppa City》를 발매했고, 2025년에는 17년 만의 첫 솔로 앨범 《The Heart of a Streetz Nigga》를 발표했습니다.[편집]

B.G. has cultivated a dedicated following that operates less like a modern fan club and more as a stewardship of Southern hip-hop history. Fans who track his career often identify through the broader legacy of Cash Money Records or the Hot Boys rather than a specific moniker for himself, gathering organically on social media threads and in New Orleans cultural circles to preserve the narrative of the group's reunion efforts. This community rallied enthusiastically around the 2024 announcement of the full original lineup performing at Lil Wayne's WeezyAna Fest, viewing it as a restoration of rap history rather than just a concert booking. While there are no formalized campaigns or subscriber-driven chart pushes unique to him, the fanbase engages deeply with his direct updates via Instagram, where over 919,000 followers follow his journey from incarceration back to the stage. His relationship with this audience is marked by a complex mix of celebration and caution, particularly after his March 2024 arrest in Las Vegas for violating probation terms by performing without authorization. This incident highlighted the fragile nature of his ability to interact with fans live, turning his release into a communal story of survival while underscoring the legal constraints still binding his career. Despite these hurdles, the devotion remains rooted in his status as the founding father of the label and the architect of its early sound. According to iFANN data evaluated in August 2026, B.G. does not currently hold a placement in the published Global Top 1,000 rankings or any scope-specific top lists. The iFANN Global Fame Engine has assessed his current standing but found no numeric rank to assign within its standard metrics. This lack of a formal ranking reflects his position as a respected pioneer whose influence is now historical rather than trending in the global mainstream charts.[편집]

B.G. named his independent label Chopper City Records to reference both his New Orleans neighborhood and slang for a firearm. He holds the distinction of being the first artist ever signed to Cash Money Records as a child, eventually recruiting a young Lil Wayne and Juvenile to form the group's nucleus. At just 18 years old, he penned the hook for "Bling Bling," a track that popularized the term enough to enter the Oxford English Dictionary. His visual identity includes a tattoo of his own face inked on his chest. He shared a close friendship with the late rapper Soulja Slim before tragedy struck when his oldest son, Christopher Dorsey Jr., was murdered in 2017. A defining legend of his later life centers on his reflection during incarceration, famously stating his birthday was being buried alive. This phrase evolved into a mantra for fans representing the sacrifice made by the OGs of the South. Another pivotal moment in recent lore occurred in July 2024 when the full Hot Boys lineup reunited for the Lil WeezyAna Fest, fulfilling a long-held hope among supporters that the group would perform together again despite years of internal disputes and legal issues.[편집]

As of 2026, B.G.'s net worth is estimated at $600,000 per iFANN's editorial analysis. His income streams are anchored in music royalties generated from his solo catalog and Hot Boys albums, alongside revenue flowing from his independent label Chopper City Records and fees from live performance bookings. He maintains no major endorsement deals or significant real estate holdings. A 14-year federal prison sentence for firearm possession and witness tampering severely limited his earning potential during a decade when most peers were expanding their empires. Since his release in 2022, he has been rebuilding his finances through steady work. Streaming revenue from his classic albums and singles, particularly "Bling Bling," provides a consistent but modest foundation for his current financial standing.[편집]
