Anderson Silva

그는 Fight of the Night 5회, Knockout of the Night 3회를 수상했으며, Fighters Only에서 2008년과 2012년에 올해의 파이터로 선정되었습니다.

TIME International Edition (2011), ESPN The Magazine (2012), Sports Illustrated

Anderson Silva commands a global presence that spans decades of combat sports dominance, with his name recognized far beyond the octagon through sustained media coverage and consumption signals worldwide. According to the iFANN Global Fame Rankings, he stands as the 55th most famous person in Brazil, the 43rd most famous person from Brazil, and the 32nd most famous person in MMA & Boxing, holding these positions steady from the previous cycle. His fanbase does not have a formal name; instead, supporters identify simply as adherents to The Spider or followers of his specific fighting style. This community engages organically through digital platforms, where his official Instagram account maintains approximately five million followers who interact with his content years after his prime. While no organized campaigns involving subway ads or birthday billboards exist for him, the cultural mythology surrounding his career remains vibrant. Fans frequently recount the story of his UFC 117 victory over Chael Sonnen, where he fought with a severe eye injury to secure a submission, viewing it as the moment he transcended athletics to become a mythological figure. Another cornerstone of this lore is his spinning back elbow knockout of Forrest Griffin at UFC 91, a moment of such technical perfection that it silenced the arena before erupting into disbelief. Recent reports confirm his retirement from professional MMA in March 2026, yet his legacy endures as current fighters cite his records as the benchmark to surpass.[편집]

Silva's nickname 'The Spider' reflects his long limbs and ability to trap opponents like prey. He holds black belts in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Muay Thai, and Taekwondo, and once competed successfully with a broken rib. A practicing Catholic, he credits his faith for his success and appeared as an extra in the 2014 film The Expendables 3. Guinness World Records recognize him for the longest reign as UFC Middleweight Champion (2,457 days), most consecutive wins in UFC (16), and most consecutive title defenses (10). He was a Pride Middleweight Grand Prix finalist in 2003, and his front kick knockout of Vitor Belfort won Knockout of the Year at the 2011 Fighters Only World MMA Awards. He received a lifetime achievement award from the World MMA Awards in 2023. Fans still retell the legend of his fight against Chael Sonnen at UFC 117, where he navigated a darkened ring due to a low-blow injury to win via guillotine choke, cementing his status as a wizard of the cage. The immediate silence following his spinning back elbow knockout of Forrest Griffin at UFC 91 remains a viral moment replayed to demonstrate why he is considered the greatest striker in history.[편집]
