Petal, stylized in all lowercase, is the eighth studio album by American singer Ariana Grande, released on July 31, 2026, through her own imprint Babydoll Music under exclusive license to Republic Records. Recorded between January and April 2026 at Jungle City in New York, Godzilya in Los Angeles, and MXM studios in both Los Angeles and Stockholm, the album was executive produced and co-written by Grande with Iranian-Swedish producer Ilya Salmanzadeh, with additional production from Max Martin. Grande described the project as "something that is full of life and growing through the cracks of something cold and hard and challenging," also noting it is "a little feral" and comes "from a place I've been maybe too shy or polite to tap into before."
The album follows Grande's 2024 album Eternal Sunshine and the 2025 soundtrack Wicked: For Good – The Soundtrack. It was announced on April 28, 2026, after Grande teased fans starting in March by adding a flower emoji to her Instagram bio. The lead single, "Hate That I Made You Love Me," was released on May 29, 2026, and debuted at number one on both the US Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Singles Chart, marking Grande's tenth number-one single in the United States. The album's release occurs during Grande's Eternal Sunshine Tour, which began in June 2026.
The cover art is a black-and-white close-up photograph of Grande smiling, with her brunette hair partially covering her face and notably without her signature ponytail. The album is available in cassette, CD, digital download, and LP formats, including an exclusive vinyl edition called "Cloudy Gray Girl."
