The rarest looks from a tour don't usually come with footage attached, but here's the Tokyo stop of the BAD World Tour in 1987, and that red shirt Michael wore for this date only. From there the run kept moving through Japan, Nishinomiya, Yokohama and Osaka all following the launch. What survives on video is a set of snippets: Wanna Be Startin Somethin, Things I Do For You, Off the Wall, Rock With You and Human Nature. The sparkly red shirt is doing a lot of work in every one of them, and knowing it never came back out on another night of the tour is the part that stays with me. Rare fits are one thing, but rare fits that were actually captured performing are something else.
