On the opening day of the Nations League, no less, so the scorebook stays blank for him. Here is the thing though: plenty of people are going to clown him for it, and I get the urge. But watch the rest of that match back and tell me he was quiet. The chances kept coming because he kept making them. He was genuinely good out there. Scoring is just a weird, fickle business sometimes. You can do everything right and still walk off with nothing to show for it. That miss stings, sure. Doesn't change what he put into the game.
