A first in Brentford's Premier League story: they put three past Chelsea at home, and Chelsea had no answer. The scoreline alone tells you how the night went for the Blues, but the deeper issue is at the back. Chelsea have shipped 12 goals to open the season, the most of any side in the Premier League. That is not a rough patch, that is an enormous problem in defense. Dibu Martinez could not keep it from getting worse as Brentford kept finding the net.
