Hiroshi Negishi, the director of 'Tenchi Muyo!', has expressed genuine surprise at the success of the 'Tenchi Galaxy' crowdfunding campaign. He recalled being told in Japan that the series 'wouldn't sell overseas.' Negishi has now returned as director for 'Tenchi Galaxy!
