Edwin De Los Santos has formally submitted an appeal to the Nevada State Athletic Commission, requesting that his knockout defeat against Jose Valenzuela be overturned and ruled a no-contest. The appeal stems from an incident during the fight: after De Los Santos was knocked down, he was hit by an additional punch while still on the canvas.
