He describes having no opportunity to sit down and talk with his father, leaving him without a figure to guide him or teach him the value of life. At age 11 or 12, he lived with his maternal grandfather, who passed away a few years ago. Lacking money for training, Suárez watched cars in a parking lot alongside him while his siblings worked to keep the family going. After his parents separated, his mother was left alone with all the children. He recalls visiting friends' houses where he saw other mothers and fathers together, contrasting that with his own reality of never having both parents present to share time. These were experiences he endured and learned from his grandfather, things his father could not provide.
